Vegetarian Lifestyle

Mar 17th, 2009 | By Amanda | Category: Featured

Being a vegetarian is more than just not eating meat. For me it is all about healthy living. Eating veggies on its own is already much more healthier than eating meat. But eating habits are only the first step in this lifestyle. Living meatless is also an option that is healthier for the Earth, because commercial animal food operations are responsible for up to 20 percent of all greenhouse gasses. Being eco-conscious, green-living and sensible health practices are noteworthy reasons for going vegan (using no animal products whatsoever) or vegetarian (no meat – however consuming eggs and dairy products). Also buying, or maybe even growing your own, organic foods will be a step towards your final healty and sustainable lifestyle. On VegZine I’ll provide recipes and articles to help you start such a living.

So think about your own health, the health of animals and the health of the world as a whole and go vegetarian.

The Diary of a Fat Vegetarian

I’m a freak of nature. I’m a lifelong vegetarian whose parents never set out to raise her that way. Seriously. Everyone in my family eats meat, but for some reason, I just wouldn’t eat it when I was a kid. Well, to be honest, my father likes to point out that I used to like bologna…but I’m not even sure that that can really be considered meat and I stopped eating it as soon as I found out that it was made from an animal. I must have been Buddhist in a former life.
